An identical vase, with silver-gilt mounts, is illustrated in Keefe & Hough, Magnificent, Marvelous Martelé: American Art Nouveau Silver, 2001, cat. no. 67, pp. 296-97. According to the catalogue entry, Gorham's ledger books refer to the glass as "French glass". They were known to have commissioned glass from both the French firm of Baccarat and the English firm of Stevens and Williams.
