A massive green, aubergine and yellow 'dragon' charger, 19th Century
Enamelled on a bright yellow ground with an aubergine five-clawed dragon at the centre encircling a flaming pearl, flanked on either side by two green dragons amongst cloud and fire-scrolls, the slightly everted border and the reverse similarly enamelled, and a band of cranes at the border on the reverse, an underglaze blue encircled Yongzheng mark in the white base -- 20 7/8 in. (53 cm.) diam.
Purchased in 1958 in Singapore.
