A MAYAN JADE HEAD PENDANT
Preclassic, ca. 100 B.C. - A.D. 100
Of bib-type, the heart-shaped face with pursed lips, accentuated cheeks and sunken almond-shaped eyes under prominent brows, the coiffure swept up in a crest; in Chichén green stone, the bib drilled twice for attachments and pierced through the sides of the head.
Height 5/8 in. (1.5 cm.)
