A Meissen canary-yellow-ground shaped oval tureen, cover and two-handled stand
the finial modelled as a canary perched on a stump issuing flowering branches, painted with panels of couples in landscapes, alternating yellow-ground panels painted with sprays of flowers between panels gilt with scrolling foliage, the stand and tureen with blue crossed swords marks, the porcelain 18th century, the decoration later (some chips, the stand restored and with rubbing to the central panel, rubbing to the gilding generally), the stand -- 38.5cm. diam.
