A Meissen figure of a grenadier drummer
CIRCA 1750, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS AT BACK OF BASE, BLACK INK SCRIPT W MARK
Modelled standing with his left foot forward and playing the side-drum, his hair tied en queue, wearing a tall peaked yellow, pink and gilt cap with an AR monogram, a white jacket with blue collar, cuffs and lining and gilt buttons, a blue waistcoat and white cross-belt suspending a drum with yellow trim and grey strings, and white gaiters over black boots, a tree-stump behind him, on a square mound base (restored through neck and one drumstick, slight flaking to enamels)
