Work on the Cris de Paris Series began in 1753 and it was the most extensive series produced at the factory. Most of the characters were derived from drawings by Christophe Hüet, but some were also derived from engravings by Boucher and drawings by Watteau. There were thirty-six figures in total, and the Pressnummer on each figure usually relates to its number in the series. The numbering system was somewhat erratic, however, as is indicated by the Pressnummer 24 on this figure, which was in fact derived from Christophe Hüet's drawing no. 21.
