Cf. Len and Yvonne Adams, Meissen Portrait Figures (London, 1987), p. 109, pl. XXXI for a similar example. The Cris de Paris series, modelled by P. Reinicke and J. J. Kändler in 1753/5 is probably the only series of figures derived from a series of drawings specifically commissioned for the purpose. The original drawings, still in the possession of the Manufacture, by Christophe Huet, brother of Jean-Charles, the manufacturer's Paris agent, were sent from Paris by him in 1753.
