all but the knights and rooks as stylised male heads, with tall conical-shaped hedgear, with fluted ornament, the knights as stylised horses' heads, the rooks of conical form cut with chevrons, king -- 3½in. (9cm) high, pawn -- 1.7/8in. (4.9cm) high; and a Spanish polychrome carved wood chess set, on a bull fighting theme, early 20th century (2)
