A Napoleon III Egyptian-revival marble patinated and gilt-bronze clock garniture Circa 1865 Comprising a clock and a pair of urns; the clock surmounted by a figure of a young Egyptian woman seated on a recumbent sphinx, holding a staff in her right hand, above an architectural shaped red and black marble base, centred to the front by a circular dial inscribed Hamilton Grichton and Co. 41 George Street, Edinburgh and to the back Médaille de bronze, MARTI et Cie., flanked to each side by a column surmounted by masks; decorated all-over with Egyptian style hieroglyphs and designs; the two urns en suite 26 in.
