In the Louis XV Style, By Charpentier & Cie, Paris circa 1870
Surmounted by a figure of a cherub holding roses, the drum-shaped case below with white enamel dial inscribed CHARPENTIER & CIE BRONZIERS A PARIS RUE CHARLOT 8 and blue Roman numerals, the twin-train movement striking on a bell, stamped and numbered CHARPENTIERS FB DE BRONZES 583 PARIS, flanked by scrolls and foliage, above a foliate scrolled base with a cherub figure flanked by an upturned vase with birds and flowers
