Specialised in furniture, chandeliers, wall-lights and bronzes, Charles-Guillaume Winckelsen first established his workshops at 23, Val-Sainte-Catherine in 1854. He then moved to 21, rue Saint-Louis in 1860, and to 49, rue de Turenne in 1867. He favoured the Louis XVI style and had amongst his clientèle prince Radziwil, the Behagues and Lafittes. His widow sold the shop to Henri Dasson on 27 July 1871.
