    PROBABLY TLINGIT
    with slightly convex tapering blade, decorated with an expanding and fluted midrib, overlaid on each side with a rectangular copper panel, surmounted by a grip, tightly wrapped with hide, and copper pommel, subtely sculpted in the form of a totemic creature, possibly a skate, inset with small circular plaques of abalone shell, with ribbed, stippled, and formline details
