A PAINTED AND GILT IVORY MODEL OF AN ELEPHANT, INDIA, 19TH CENTURY
With two bearded nobles seated in the howdah below a canopy, the elephant guided its mahout wearing an orange and gold saddle cloth, it's face and tail painted with floral and diaper pattern motifs -- 4 1/8in. (10.4cm.) high.
