A pair of Arita bucket shaped vessels
Edo Period (early 19th Century)
the square tapering bodies with angular carrying handles, decorated in green and iron-red enamels with shaped panels of ho-o in flight amongst cloud scrolls, all on swastika and diaper pattern grounds -- 6¾in. (17cm.) high, one with metal attachment, (one cracked, firing flaws).
