A PAIR OF BRUSSELS TAPESTRY BORDER FRAGMENTS
Second half 17th Century
Woven in wools and silks, each depicting profuse foliate scrolls with a monkey to the base and birds within foliate wreaths, the centre with a spread eagle on a foliate plinth, within later brown outer slips, reweaving and patching, one variously cut and re-attached, minor variations in height
One 8 ft. 10 in. (269 cm.) high; the other 8 ft. 8 in. (265 cm.) high; each 8 in. (20 cm.) wide (2)
