David Morris International, the award-winning jeweler, was founded in 1969 in London, and is currently managed by Mr. Morris and his son, Jeremy. Over the course of thirty-plus years, the company has gained international recognition for jewels of quality, set with the finest gemstones.
Today, with an extensive new London workshop, David Morris specializes in a range of colored diamond and gem-set jewelry, as well as 18k gold pieces. In addition to the flagship Conduit Street salon, David Morris has several exclusive boutiques within Selfridges and Harvey Nichols, as well as the Four Seasons and Carlton Hotels.
David Morris designs have an imaginative flair that draw on classic technique, but translate into uniquely modern pieces of jewelry. Each piece is renowned for its exquisite craftsmanship and use of the finest and rarest materials available.
Mrs. Kelly acquired several magnificent pieces of David Morris jewelry. Highlights include a matching pair of large pear-shaped diamonds, set as ear clips (lot 177), and a cabochon Ceylon sapphire and diamond necklace (lot 152). Two unique rings (lots 178 and 179) each set with exquisite fancy colored diamonds are quite rare.
The final lots in Mrs. Kelly's collection and ending the sale of her jewels are the David Morris diamond cluster necklace, brooch and ear clips (lots 180-183). With over 285 carats combined of white diamonds, the pieces are technical achievements. Morris' gift of setting exceptional gemstones in stylish jewels is apparent in the pieces Mrs. Kelly chose for her collection.
