    A PAIR OF LARGE FAMILLE ROSE BALUSTER JARS AND COVERS
    YONGZHENG (1723-35)
    Each vase with broad shoulder tapering to an ogee section above the foot, brightly and richly enamelled on each side with a large basket of flowers including chrysanthemum, magnolia, peony, peach blossom, gourd and finger citron, with smaller flowers visible through the openwork sides, alternating with a blue 'cracked-ice-pattern' vase of composite flowers beside a cluster of smaller vases, vessels, furniture and scholars' utensils, including books and scrolls, the shoulder with a collar of shaped floral multi-patterned lappets and the neck with four floral sprays, a pink floral band above a narrow sepia band around the foot, the domed cover similarly decorated below the underglaze blue and gilt lotus bud finial, one with body crack, one neck restored
