Enid Annenberg Haupt was the fourth of eight children of Triangle Publications founder Moses Annenberg. Her brother, Walter, founded TV Guide and Seventeen Magazine, where Mrs. Haupt spent 17 years as editor-in-chief. Throughout her life, Mrs. Haupt placed tremendous importance on beauty, both natural and man-made. She was an avid gardener and benefactor of countless horticultural institutions around the world, most notably the New York Botanical Gardens. She also cultivated a celebrated collection of Impressionist paintings, important jewels and 18th Century European Furniture. Throughout her lifetime Mrs. Haupt made significant contributions to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the New York Zoological Society/Wildlife Conservation Society.
