Lot Essay

Charles Catteau was the leading Art Deco designer working for the Belgian firm, Boch Freres Keramis, in the 1920s. the two vases in this lot are typical of his work which is characterised by incised stylised decoration, thickly applied enamel motifs and cream craquluere grounds.
