Born in Wallace, Idaho in 1920, Julie Jean Mildred Francis Turner moved to California with her family when she was nine years old. In 1937, Turner entered Hollywood with bit parts until her breakthrough role in the film, "Love Finds Andy Hardy" starring Mickey Rooney. Her striking beauty and alluring screen presence won audiences over. Nicknamed "The Sweater Girl" from the film with Rooney, Turner had many roles throughout the 1940s. Her family drama and personal demons threatened to overtake her career, but Turner endured. In the 1980s she portrayed Jacqueline Perrault on the popular TV show "Falcon Crest". Lana Turner died in Culver City, California in 1995.
