A PAIR OF SMALL MING-STYLE BLUE AND WHITE SAUCER DISHES
YONGZHENG SIX-CHARACTER MARKS IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN DOUBLE CIRCLES AND OF THE PERIOD (1723-1735)
Each painted in fifteenth century style with simulated 'heaping and piling', the center of the interior with five blossoms borne on a leafy, scrolling tendrils, below a band of composite foliate scroll bearing six flowers in the well and a narrow band of classic scroll at the rim, with a further frieze of composite foliate scroll on the exterior between a band of key fret above and a band of classic scroll below

Acquired by the grandfather of the present owners, Whampoa, Guangdong, circa 1890 - 1920s, thence by descent within the family.
