The shape and construction of these commodes is very similar to those made by the Hofschreinerei Daniel for the Residenz in Munich circa 1810-1815. The latter, which are veneered in stained field maple rather than the geometric parquetry of the present examples, are currently in Schloss Berchtesgaden and are discussed in B. Langer et. al., Die Möbel der Residenz München, Munich, 1997, vol. III, pp. 270-271.
