A pair of Worcester blue-scale and yellow-ground quatrefoil chestnut- baskets, pierced covers and two pierced stands
Circa 1770, the baskets with blue square seal marks
With branch handles and finials with flower terminals, the interiors of the baskets painted with exotic birds among shrubs within an oval cartouche, surrounded by butterflies and birds within gilt vase and mirror-shaped cartouches on a blue-scale-ground, the exteriors of the baskets and covers with puce flowerheads within pale-yellow hexagonal cartouches and radiating pierced lappets, the centres of the stands painted with a bouquet of flowers within similar radiating lappets, the covers with a pierced central dry-blue enamel medallion and a blue-scale border (one cover with large rim chip, one stand with extensive chipping to flower terminal and with other chipping to flower terminals)
