A pair of Worcester blue-scale flared hexagonal vases and domed covers
Circa 1770, blue square seal marks
Each painted with exotic birds perched, strutting and in flight among trees and shrubs, the lower part with garlands of flowers, within richly gilt diaper-panelled scroll, loop and foliage cartouches joined by gilt panels of flowers at the shoulder and with six further quatrefoil panels of butterflies and insects alternating with birds on branches, the domed covers with similar gilt oval panels of birds and butterflies, flanked by trailing gilt foliage above a gilt diaper border (the foot of one vase slightly ground and with a slither chip, the other with two short cracks to neck and small associate pieces lacking from top rim, one cover with chips to inner flange and associated crack)
