A PERSIMMON AND BLACK-GLAZED BOWL
NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY (960-1127)
The bowl is potted with deep rounded sides tapering slightly to the rim, supported on a splayed foot. It is covered inside and out with a russet-coloured glaze to project a variegated and mottled surface, pooling irregularly above the foot, exposing the chalky white body.
