This table relates closely to a pair of Portuguese rosewood pier tables made in the third quarter of the 18th Century, illustrated in M.J. Espirito Santo Bustorff Silva and M.N. Teague, Ricardo do Espirito Santo Silva Foundation, Lison 1995, p. 76.
