A RARE AND WELL-CARVED AMBER SNUFF BOTTLE
The well-hollowed bottle carved on one side with a bear looking up at a startled eagle perched on a rocky overhang, the reverse cleverly carved utilizing the darker markings in the material with a cat in pursuit of two butterflies, the original amber stopper pierced and carved with a bird, the base incised with a two-character Jiaqing mark in seal script
2 3/8 in. (5.9 cm.) high
Acquired circa 1960s-1974, and thence by descent within the family.
