A rare early Steiff cone-nosed teddy bear
with golden mohair, black boot button eyes, pronounced muzzle, black stitched nose, mouth and five claws, swivel head, jointed elongated limbs with felt pads, soft stuffing, hump and elephant button in ear, circa 1905 --25in. (63.5cm.) high (both ankles almost severed, ears part unstitched, some mouth and nose stitching missing and some minor general wear)

The 'cone-nosed' bear is the second oldest Steiff which comes up for sale, he is the next step on from the earlier 'rod-bear'.
No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 17.5% will be added to the buyer's premium, which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.
