A RARE GEORGE II GOLD-MOUNTED HARDSTONE SNUFF-BOX WITH WATCH
London, circa 1750, the verge watch movement signed and numbered 'Js Hubert LONDON 1213'
Tapering box with waisted baluster sides and wavy lobed outlines, the domed hinged cover opening to reveal a hinged white enamel chapter disc with Roman and Arabic chapters and blued steel hands, the base of the box with a larger hinged lid opening to reveal a compartment for snuff-tobacco, the gold cagework mounts stamped and embossed with scrolls, flowers and foliage on a matted ground, slightly everted reeded wavy gold thumbpieces
