A RARE GREEN-DECORATED YELLOW-GROUND 'LOTUS' DISH
DAOGUANG SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
With rounded sides, the exterior incised with twelve lotus sprays glazed green and reserved on the egg yolk-yellow ground that also covers the interior, with a single line border under the glaze below the rim and a double line band under the glaze on the foot

Lot Essay

No other Daoguang-marked dish of this large size, with this pattern, appears to have been published. A very similar dish, with a Jiaqing seal mark, in the Nanjing Museum, is illustrated in Zhongguo Qing dai guanyao ciqi (Chinese Qing Dynasty Guanyao Porcelain), Shanghai, 2003, p. 358.
