A rare Merrythought 'Happy', The Laughing Pup
Cat. No.1330, with golden brown mohair, brown patch around one eye, black tail and inner ear, orange and black glass eyes, rexine nose, open 'laughing' mouth with pink lining and tongue, collar, jointed head and forelegs, sat up begging, tan felt pads with webbed claw stitching and label in inner leg --16in. (41cm.) high, circa 1936 (slight discolouration, inner rear leg seam opened)

This dog appears in Merrythought's mid 1930s catalogues and is described as "'Happy', The Laughing Pup made in rich golden brown Mohair Plush. This Pup is new and different and what a smile !", available in 12", 14" and 17" high.
