A rare Steiff Limited Edition 1 of 1 Teddy Clown
with standard pale yellow mohair as for bear 029387 and unique cream felt hat with dark purple buttons and peach ruff with dark purple edge, button and yellow tag, chest tag and signed on foot Otmar Dreher, Steiff's managing director at the time of manufacture --6½in. (16.5cm.) high, 1993, accompanied by certificate of authenticity, a Colour Box for Steiff miniature of the original Clown Bear used as a promotional gift at the Nuremburg Toy Fair, 1993, a standard production of the pink version Teddy Clown bear no. 029394 and a copy of Christie's 1993 teddy bear catalogue (5)
This unique bear was created and sold in Christie's first all teddy bear sale on the 6th December 1993. He was lot 237 and Steiff donated him to be sold for the Child Accident Prevention Trust charity.
