A rare Steiff Roly Poly Clown Cloo
with pink felt face with centre-seam, blue and black glass eyes, blonde mohair hair, swivel head, jointed arms, on red, green and yellow bulbous body, white felt ruff, three pom-pom buttons and red felt pinted hat, circa 1910 --10½in. (26.5cm.) high including hat (darn to top of hat, a few small moth holes and some fading)

These Roly Poly toys were introduced in the 1909 catalogue as 'Toys for Tiny Tots'. The series included Farmer Dach, Teddy Bear, Golliwog, Cowboy, Clown Cloo, Cat and Rabbit.
