Glass dishes of this form are rare and were most likely based on the richly colored monochrome dishes made during the Yongzheng period, such as the twelve in the collection of the Palace Museum, Beijing, illustrated in Kangxi. Yongzheng. Qianlong: Qing Porcelain from the Palace Museum, Hong Kong, 1989, p. 316, pl. 145. For another glass dish of chrysanthemum form see the example in opaque orange glass included in the exhibition, Clear as Crystal, Red as Flame, China Institute, 21 April - 16 June 1990, no. 32.
