A Régence style ebonised, foliate cut brass and pewter inlaid and gilt-bronze mounted bracket timepiece with wall bracket, 19th century
The case with flambeau urn finials to the domed top and to the angles below, with balustraded gallery, arched glazed side panels, with projecting columns to the sides (one lacking, one disassembled), on part-fluted toupie feet, the velvet-covered dial applied with a Roman chapter ring with outside Arabic five minutes, subsidiary seconds dial and unusual power reserve indication to the centre, a relief cast figure of Chronos mounted below and bearing the signature Thuret Paris, with indirect wind to the mainspring with single barrel movement and deadbeat escapement, hourly remontoire via subsidiary barrel on the backplate, stamped EDOUARD FRANCOIS on the back plate -- 25in. Lots will be available for collection following transfer to Cadogan Tate from the Friday following the sale and every week-day from 9.00am to 5.00pm.
Please note that there will be no charge to purchasers who collect their lots within one week of the sale.
On the Thursday, one week after the sale, a transfer and administration charge of £18.50 per lot will be payable and a storage charge of £3.20 per lot per day will then come into effect. These charges are payable to Cadogan Tate and are subject to VAT and an insurance surcharge.
