The shaped rectangular top with three-quarter solid gallery with reeded edge, above a central concave frieze mahogany-lined drawer and arched apron, flanked by two mahogany-lined drawers on each side, on ring-turned tapering reeded legs with brass caps and castors, the handles original

The stamp of 'GILLOWS . LANCASTER' is recorded on a related reed-enriched dressing-table, but with low 'rims' supplied in 1811 for Parlington Hall (C. Gilbert, Furniture at Temple Newsam House and Lotherton Hall, Leeds, 1978, No.500).
