The padded head and foot board of scrolled form covered in blue foliate Bennison material, on massive ring-turned baluster legs with lacquered- brass caps and castors, the side rails and slats replaced by 'Howe', inscribed in pencil 'West Wing Vallet NO.6', lacking mattress
42¼ in. (107 cm.) high; 88 in. (224 cm.) long; 50¾ in. (129 cm.) wide
Probably acquired by Edward, Viscount Lascelles (1764-1814) for Harewood House, Hanover Square, London or Harewood House, Yorkshire.
Thence by descent until sold from Harewood House, Christie's House sale, 3 October 1988, lot 539.
