A rigged half model of a Shields Class One Design
Anonymous (American, 20th century)
A wooden half model, carved and shaped to form the hull of a Shields Class one design yacht, painted white with a red waterline. The model is fitted with a mast and boom, mainsail and jib, all of wood and painted. On the mainsail is the Shields class insignia and the no. 1, signifying that she was the first in the class. Displayed on a pine backboard within a pine framed glass case, and a brass plaque denoting the yacht to be of the Shields class.
