A ROMAN BRONZE APOLLO KITHAROIDOS
CIRCA 2ND CENTURY A.D.
The slender athletic figure depicted nude, standing with his weight on his left leg, the right relaxed and bent at the knee, holding a plectrum in his lowered right hand, originally holding his kithara in his raised right hand, his head turned to his right, the center-parted hair bound in a fillet and tied in a chignon, with long braids falling onto each shoulder
