    A ROMAN MARBLE PORTRAIT HEAD OF A MAN
    circa mid 3rd century a.d.
    The bearded face with rugged features including fleshy cheeks and double chin, the bulging eyes under broad brows, with heavy lids, protruding bags, and drilled pupils and tear ducts, with two wrinkles across the forehead and deep naso-labial folds, the beard and moustache delineated with short chiseled lines, the beard extending over the double chin, the hair-line receding on either side of the high forehead, the large ears protruding below the short curls of his hair, with remnants of a cloak at the back of the neck
