Post Lot Text
This plate is from a service of over 140 plates commissioned by Nicholas II in 1907. The scenes are based on watercolor sketches of Russian troops in uniform executed by Viktor Mazurovskii (1859-1923) during the reign of Alexander III. The rim decoration is by Rudolf Vilde. Over half of the service, 75 plates, is in the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg.
