Reeded oblong, the compartments for cigarettes and matches each with a hinged cover, engraved inside with an inscription, marked inside and inside each cover

The inscription reads 'In Memory of Dear Old Hua to whom this case was given By His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh'
Presented by Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh (1844-1900), fourth son of Queen Victoria (1819-1901).
