    A SARMATIAN GOLD AND GLASS NECKLACE
    Circa 1st Century B.C.-1st Century A.D.
    With two lengths of three-fold double loop-in-loop chain with square terminals and a loop, the chains joined to the central oval box-shaped element by means of two ram heads, both naturalistically modelled, with recessed eyes, underslung horns and stamped details for the fleece, V-shaped exhausts below, each with profiled collars with bands of beaded wire, the loops projecting from their mouths pinned to twin loops joined at an angle to the side of the central element, which has a projecting flange and is set with an aubergine glass cabochon
    12½ in. (31.7 cm) long
