A SCOTTISH BASKET-HILTED BROADSWORD
Early 18th Century
With tapering flattened blade with two short fullers on each face stamped 'Andrea/Ferara', iron guard of slender bars involving 'S's' (perhaps for Stirling) and fretted panels pierced with circular holes and a stylised heart (one panel missing, one incomplete), associated fluted domed pommel, and later diagonally fluted wooden grip (iron parts with surface pitting)
