A SCOTTISH BASKET-HILTED BROADSWORD
Second quarter of the 18th Century
With tapering blade (pitted, edges nicked) with two broad fullers at the forte with faint inscriptions 'No Me Saques Sin Rason/No Me Embaines Sin Honor', iron guard of bars of rectangular section involving incised fretted panels pierced with circles and stylised hearts, fluted pommel stamped with a capital 'A', and spirally fluted shagreen-covered grip
