A SCOTTISH REGIMENTAL BACKSWORD
Third quarter of the 18th Century
With fluted blade double-edged towards the point (tip missing) and with traces of a crown and signature (of Samuel Harvey?) on the ricasso, large iron guard of fluted bars of rectangular section involving fretted panels pierced with circles and triangles and an oval aperture for the reins, scrolled wrist-guard, and domed pommel (grip missing, some surface pitting)
