A Scrimshaw Walrus Tusk**

A very finely engraved walrus tusk with the images of two elegantly dressed figures, the first, a gentleman engraved with the name and title Capt. Staples, and the other a woman holding a flower. In addition the tooth is engraved with three borders of six pointed stars and at the center a floral motif with the date 1853 engraved above them. The tusk also has a hole drilled through the top.
