A section of the pump rod from S.S. Sirius
in brass and inscribed 'cut from the pump rod of the S.S. Sirius the first passenger steamer to cross the Atlantic. She left Cork on the 3rd and reached New York on the 22nd of April 1838. In June 1847 she was lost and after lying for 51 years was salvaged and her metal work purchased by Mason B'ham who present this souvenir
