A set of eight Japanese Imari plates
Circa 1700
Painted in underglaze-blue, iron-red and gilt with a cluster of chrysanthemum superimposed by a scroll- and fan-shaped panel, the rim similarly decorated, 27.3 cm. diam.; and a plate decorated with two square panels enclosing flowers and a river landscape, reserved on foliate and quatrefoil panels enclosing fish, 22.3 cm. diam., chips (9)
