The first part of this service with the same provenance was sold in our Amsterdam saleroom on 10 December 2003. This second part of the Brunswick service was saved from oblivion when the owners recovered these thirty plates from a remote storage room in their mansion. The parts of this Fürstenberg service were modelled by Johann Christoph Rombrich and painted by Pascha Weitsch. This service is related to the important topographical service produced for the Duke Carl von Braunschweig, of which the major part is at display in the Royal Collections, Windsor Castle.
